FAQ & Troubleshooting
General questions
What do I need to use dock-g?
A self-hosted Dockge server your iPhone can reach — on your home network or e.g. via VPN. dock-g is the client, the server runs on your side.
What is Dockge-Enhanced and do I need it?
Dockge-Enhanced is an extended Dockge variant. dock-g works fully with regular Dockge; Enhanced additionally unlocks the monitoring dashboard, Image Watcher (update detection), CVE scanner (Trivy), backup management and Docker resources.
Where are my credentials stored?
Exclusively on your device in the iOS Keychain. There is no cloud, no account, and no data transfer to the developer.
Can I manage multiple Dockge servers?
Yes, as many as you like. Switch right from the menu in the stack overview title, and every server can have its own colour theme.
Troubleshooting
The connection to my server fails
Use the “Test connection” button in the server dialog — it probes the host step by step and shows a readable log. Most common causes: wrong scheme (http vs. https), wrong port (Dockge default: 5001), or the server isn’t reachable from your current network. You can share the log straight to support.
The update pill / Image Watcher shows nothing
Update detection, monitoring and Trivy require Dockge-Enhanced. With regular Dockge these sections are not available.
Push notifications don't arrive
Push must be enabled per server — via the bell icon in the top-left of the stack overview (grey = off, tinted = active). Also check the time and weekdays of the check schedule there.
The SSH terminal won't connect
The SSH host must be linked to the Dockge server. dock-g suggests the link automatically based on the IP; you can also set it manually in Settings under the SSH host. One SSH access can be linked to multiple Dockge instances on the same machine.
Stacks are missing or look stale
Pull the list down to refresh and check the coloured connection dot next to the server name. If it stays red/grey, switching servers back and forth or restarting the app usually helps.
